Colorado minimum wage is increasing again

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Minimum wage in Colorado will increase by 2.7% in 2025.

According to The Colorado Division of Labor Standards and Statistics, minimum wage will increase from $14.42 to $14.81 in 2025. The $0.39 increase for 2025 comes after a $0.77 increase in 2024. This is a total of $1.16 increase in two years.

Workers with a tip wage have different minimums. Those with a tip credit are increasing from a minimum of $11.40 to $11.79.

Federal minimum wage has not been raised since 2009. According to USA.gov, federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. The minimum wage for employees that receive tips is $2.13 per hour. USA said the amount of tips plus the $2.13 must reach at least $7.25 per hour. If not, your employer must pay to make up the difference.

A few areas around Colorado have their wages set differently than the state. Denver City/County will be at $18.81 in 2025. The City of Edgewater is increasing to $16.52. Unincorporated areas in Boulder County will be $16.57 and the City of Boulder will be $15.57.
