LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN/TMX/Gray News) – A Nebraska man allegedly stole his boss’s skid loader and “went on a rampage,” smashing it into police cars, parked vehicles, storefronts and even ATMs, police said.

According to Lancaster County Department of Corrections jail records, 36-year-old Samuel Peyrot was arrested on multiple charges, including second-degree assault and criminal mischief in connection to the destructive spree on Sunday.

The Lincoln Police Department said officers responded at around 2:30 p.m. to a U-Stop convenience store for reports of a man in a skid loader “vandalizing vehicles with the machine.”

Additional 911 calls came in directing officers to a nearby Home Depot parking lot, where they said they found Peyrot driving the Bobcat.

“When the first officer arrived on the scene, the man turned the skid loader toward the cruiser and rammed into it while the officer was inside, damaging the cruiser,” police wrote in a press release.

Police said the officer got out of his vehicle and demanded Peyrot to get out of the Bobcat, and he complied and was arrested.

Videos shared on social media show the chaos in the Home Depot parking lot.

The skid loader can be seen with its front loader raised, speeding past a police vehicle, bumping it. It then spins in the snow and lowers the front loader to windshield level and rams it into the police SUV, also appearing to strike a black sedan.

Police said several vehicles were damaged in the rampage, and one man who was inside a damaged truck sustained minor injuries.

Peyrot also allegedly damaged the exteriors of multiple nearby businesses.

According to police, the skid loader belonged to Peyrot’s employer. Peyrot had taken the machine to the U-Stop using a company-owned truck.
