Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District race too close to call as Hurd holds watch party
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The race for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District remained too close to call Tuesday night as U.S. Rep. Jeff Hurd held an election watch party at Mama Ree’s in Grand Junction.
About 200 people came through the event during the night, gathering to show their support and follow the election results.
Hurd said he is grateful for the support and is cautiously optimistic as the numbers continue to come in.
After hours of watching the returns, the race remained too close to call. More ballots still need to be counted. Hurd and his supporters are waiting to see the final numbers.
Hurd has represented Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District since January 2025. He is seeking reelection to a second two-year term in Congress and is running against Democratic candidate Dwayne Romero.
It has been nearly 20 years since a Democrat has held the seat for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.
