Eisenhower Tunnel temporarily closed

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -Travelers going through the Eisenhower Tunnel were delayed or rerouted for a short while. Westbound lanes on I-70 were temporarily closed on July 3rd, 2025.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), I-70 was closed due to a car fire.

As of the writing of this article, westbound lanes have partially opened back up. CDOT officials said travelers can still expect long delays. Eastbound lanes were still open.
